Baby Blue | Olympia WA Family Photographer

I remember the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” We all hear it over and over again…but I never had an answer and it felt more like unnecessary pressure, rather than the freedom to dream. I knew I wanted to do good and contribute to the “important” but I never would have thought that I’d want to make photographs. Is that considered a career of value?
The longer I do this work, the more confidently I can answer yes.
Visual stories take us back on detailed journeys through some of the most sacred places in time. Like the week they stayed in this small cabin oasis tucked in the woods…built by past generations decades ago. Grandparent, aunts, uncles and cousins all squeeze into this cozy space for Thanksgiving and Blue’s family traveled from their home in Utah for her first.
So when her mama plopped down on the couch in a place filled with so much sentiment to nurse and admire her, it’s more than worthy of being photographed.
How good it feels to share moments like these with our children…then after years of past time, thumb through photographs of it all.
They commissioned this session to honor their daughter, Blue and remember her first time at the cabin…a few days from her first birthday. Their one and only. A miracle baby.

This is precious! I’m sure Mom and Dad and Baby Blue will treasure it as the years go by…
