2017 Year in Review | Olympia WA Photographer

2017  brought a lot of changes, both personally and for my business. I’m nearing the end of another 365 project and plan to continue shooting daily through 2018. This was the first year that I took on multiple births and spent much of the summer on call for families who welcomed new life into the world. Witnessing birth is the most incredible thing and to be invited into someone’s sacred space is more than a honor. My love for photographing mothers in their element is only growing.

In the fall, my youngest child started kindergarten and for the first time in over eleven years, I have an empty nest for much of the day. I’ve been pouring all of my extra time and energy into this business…a labor of love. I can see it taking shape and there are some really exciting new things coming in 2018.

I have too many favorites from the year but here are a few from commissioned sessions. It’s gratifying to make pictures of love and connection, knowing that the power and meaning of these images will only grow greater with time. The biggest thank you to each family who invited me into your most intimate space.

If you’re hoping for a session in 2018, I’m now booking documentary birth, family and motherhood sessions. I would love to connect with you…anna@anna-christine.com
