Giving them a childhood full of cloudiness and sunlight…not indoors, the screen bright. Here’s to leading the littles into something better.
Sleeping In The Forest by Mary Oliver
I thought the earth remembered me, she
took me back so tenderly, arranging
her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds. I slept
as never before, a stone
on the riverbed, nothing
between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated
light as moths among the branches
of the perfect trees. All night
I heard the small kingdoms breathing
around me, the insects, and the birds
who do their work in the darkness. All night
I rose and fell, as if in water, grappling
with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.

I miss Washington almost every day and after these incredible images, I’m feeling homesick something FIERCE! So beautiful. These images feel like home.
I love the way you paint with light Anna. Beautiful images <3
what lovely images Anna! I love that we feel like we were on that walk with you. the light is so beautiful.
Anna, you amaze me. You made a mud puddle look like the most beautiful thing. Wow.
This looks like a perfect evening. I love the one of just the smallest amount of someone’s topknot illuminated by light. What peaceful photos.
Oh my all the scrummyness Anna! Deep dark moody shadows, cool cool tones, wispy hair and pockets of light! What a beautiful freelensed collection of memories.
Anna, these are all so gorgeous. You set the mood so well with the tones of your editing and color. I feel as though I am there walking through the forests of Washington, following your children along until we reach the water. My favorite images are the ones of your little girls so comfortable in their soft skin, one with nature. ♥
